Melrose Place Actress Sentenced in DWI Death

nullFormer Melrose Place actress, Amy Locane-Bovenizer, was sentenced to three years in prison for killing a woman while drunk in 2010. The ex-starlet killed 60-year-old Helene Seeman in Montgomery Township when she plowed into her while drunk in her SUV. Her husband screamed "What a travesty!" and her son stormed out of the courtroom after the sentencing. Locane-Bovenizer was facing up to 10 years in prison for the vehicular homocide but the judge only gave her 3 years.

Drunk Driver Causes 3 Accidents in 30 Minutes

In Bayonne, New Jersey, Police are accusing a man of causing three accidents in just a half-hour Tuesday.

The accused, John Leahy 46, supposedly had three different accidents within 3 city blocks. Around 8:30 am, he rear ended a Chevy HHV, exchanged information with the other driver, then left the scene. Shortly thereafter, he struck another car nearby at a red light but did not give him his insurance information this time. lastly, Leahy ran a red light and was hit by a Nissan Quest just down the road from the previous two accidents.

Leahy has been arrested and charged with drinking and driving, as well as leaving the scene of an accident, failure to stop at a red light and several other citations.

Busted Twice in 8 hours for DWI

In Washington State, troopers pulled a woman over and did a blood draw to determine her blood alcohol content, booked her for DWI and then released her. According to Trooper Guy Gill, about 8 hours later she was pulled over in a different vehicle and arrested again. Both times she was impaired and both cars were impounded.

Former Council aide convicted of DUI

A former Philadelphia City Council sergeant-at-arms was found guilty Monday of two counts of driving under the influence by a Municipal Court judge.

Rodney Williams, 42, who had worked for Council since 2004, did not testify, and defense attorney Robin Colley Pitt called no witnesses during the hour-long trial before Judge Gerard A. Kosinski. Kosinski set sentencing for April 1.

Bobby Brown Arrested for DUI…Again

Bobby Brown43-year-old R&B singer, Bobby Brown, was arrested on DUI charges earlier today in Van Nuys, California.

It is Brown’s second arrest this year that is alcohol related. A judge in March sentenced Brown to an alcohol treatment program as well as probation and a fine when he pleaded no contest to a DUI charge one month after his ex-wife Whitney Houston died.

The New Edition singer has had a history of drug and alcohol problems over the years and admitted himself into a treatment program in August after marrying his second wife.

Hall of Fame Catcher, Carlton Fisk, Charged with Drinking and Driving

Carlton FiskIn New Lenox, Illinois, Ex-Red Sox and White Sox catcher, Carlton Fisk was found unconscious behind the wheel of his car, in the middle of a corn field.

“Around 7:20 (Monday) night, we received a couple of calls about a vehicle in a field,” Deputy Chief Bob Pawlisz said.

The Deputy Chief went on to say that the Hall of Fame catcher was, “charged with a lane violation, driving under the influence and illegal transportation of alcohol. An open container of alcohol was found in the vehicle.”

Tubby Smith’s Son on Unpaid Leave After DUI Arrest

Saul SmithMinnesota’s assistant coach, Saul Smith, son of Tubby Smith, has been placed on unpaid leave from the team following his arrest for DUI.

The 32 year-old was arrested Saturday morning after leaving a nearby restaurant. He is due in court on December 3rd to face his charges.

The school’s athletic director, Norwood Teague, along with coach Tubby Smith, decided to suspend the younger Smith saying the school’s values, “dictate that our coaches and staff be positive role models for our student-athletes.”

Sports Radio Host Arrested For DUI

Former Auburn football player and current sports radio host Cole Cubelic was arrested Friday morning and charged with DUI.

Cubelic was taken in to the Madison County Jail just after 3 a.m. Friday. He was charged with speeding, having an open container and Driving Under the Influence.

Cubelic is the co-Host of The Cole Cubelic Show on ESPN 97.7 fm The Zone.
