Marine Colonel relieved of duty after DWI

Colonel Douglas Denn was deposed by of Major General Carl Jensen “due to loss of confidence in Denn’s ability to command,” said Major Bradley Gordon spokesman for the Marine Corps Installations East in Jacksonville.

Gordon went on to say,”The relief occurred as a result of an investigation into allegations of Denn driving under the influence that eroded good order and discipline.”

Denn was arrested this past week and charged with DWI, speeding, and violating the open container law.

Denn has more than 3,500 flight hours and has received many decorations, which include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Meritorious Service medal, Navy Commendation Medal with three gold stars and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
