Point Pleasant, NJ police: Boy, 15 charged with DWI

POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ — A drunken teen took police on a brief foot chase after he crashed a stolen pickup truck into a local business as an officer tried to pull him over, according to police.

An off-duty police officer first noticed the 15-year-old boy driving the 1996 Dodge Ram Sport erratically in Point Pleasant shortly before 4 a.m. Sunday and followed the vehicle into the neighboring borough, according to Detective Patrick Petruzziello.

Police Officer Frank Finn caught up with the truck on Trenton Avenue, where the juvenile was driving without the vehicle’s headlights on, and attempted to stop the truck, when the juvenile took off, Petruzziello said.
